Healing Ceilings

To say that I’m excited about this collaboration is an understatement!

Artist and Designer Claire Rackley and I connected on Instagram in 2020. As well as her beautiful abstract art, I was so inspired by her story and vision for Healing Ceilings- to improve Mental Health and Wellness in Australia through quality design and soothing colours.

I love that colour and beauty can be part of the healing process for patients in Hospitals. We had a great chat and I felt an alignment in my heart over this movement.

Claire’s story is of her healing journey, as she was in hospital herself due to a Chiari 1 malformation- needing brain and spine surgery. After spending a lot of time in waiting rooms and recovery rooms she noticed the amount of long and painful hours that patients had by themselves looking at the white ceilings. She wanted to make a positive change in these spaces for those lying on their backs looking up and feeling isolated.

Colour, form, texture and other creative expressions have an ability to access the heart, mind and body in ways other methods don’t. We are much more than just physical beings. With so much emphasis particularly on wellness and mental health in the last few years, I truly believe that a holistic approach to healing is necessary. Bringing attention to the whole self - physical, emotional and spiritual improve the quality of life dramatically.

It is such an honour to be part of a vision- currently I have two pieces in the collection that I hope one day will brighten up a hospital room and connect with patients during their healing process.

You can check out Claire’s website for more information and to see other artists on the team, follow her at @clairerackleyart, @healingceilings and the hashtag #healingceilingmovement.

Peace & Love,
